When you walk into a typical dog boarding facility, your nose usually tells you exactly where you are. There is a lingering scent of industrial bleach mixed with "wet dog" that most people have come to accept as the norm.
At Puppy Island Care & Spa in Glendale, we decided to break that norm.
We believe that true luxury isn't just about the decor; it’s about the invisible standards. It’s about the air your dog breathes, the floor they run on, and the bowl they eat from. We don’t just "clean"—we operate with a hygiene manifesto that most facilities simply can’t match.
1. The 15-Ton Climate Control & High-Velocity Air Exchange
Most boarding facilities rely on standard residential units that simply recirculate stale air. We’ve engineered a professional environment using three dedicated 5-ton HVAC systems (15 tons total).
But we didn't stop at temperature control. To ensure the air is actually fresh, we’ve installed six high-spinning industrial fans. Each fan is powerful enough to cover 3,000 sq. ft. of air (18,000 sq. ft. of power total). In our 5,000 sq. ft. space, this means the air is constantly being swapped and refreshed.

At 8:00 AM, our cleaning ritual begins with the basics. While some places might just do a quick rinse, our staff hand-washes every bowl with high-heat hot water, scrubbing them thoroughly to remove biofilm. Only after they are physically scrubbed do they get disinfected and prepped for the next meal.

We refuse to use abrasive chemicals that can irritate a dog’s paws. Our cleaning arsenal is a "cocktail" of the best products in the industry:
